What WindMind does, and what it does not
WindMind reads weather forecasts and tells you when they match conditions you have described. That is the whole of it.
It does not tell you that anything is safe. A forecast is a model’s opinion about the future, produced for a grid square roughly 11 km across, and the air at your particular hill, beach or mooring can differ from it substantially — especially near coasts, ridges and in mountains, which is where most of our users are.
Paragliding, sailing, kite sports and flying model aircraft carry real risk of injury and death. The decision to launch, sail or fly is yours alone, and must be made from the conditions in front of you, your own training, and the judgement of people present. Do not substitute this app for any of those.
Likewise, a hazard alarm is a convenience and not a guarantee. Notifications depend on your device, your network and Apple’s delivery service, any of which can fail. Do not rely on WindMind as the only protection for property, equipment or anything else that matters.
Accounts
You may use WindMind without an account. If you create one, keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Subscriptions
Plus and Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions sold through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase, and renews at the same price unless auto-renew is switched off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your device’s Settings, under your Apple account’s subscriptions. We cannot cancel it for you — Apple does not permit cancellation anywhere else.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their policy. If a purchase is refunded, the paid features stop, but nothing you saved is deleted: locations above the free limit become read-only and stop sending alerts, and they come back as they were if you subscribe again.
Fair use
Do not attempt to circumvent plan limits, automate access to the API, or resell the forecast data. Accounts doing so may be suspended.
Availability
We try to keep the service running and the forecasts current, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Weather providers have outages; so do push notification services; so, occasionally, do we.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, WindMind is provided as-is, and we are not liable for loss or damage arising from its use, from a notification that did not arrive, or from one that did and proved wrong. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
